Statistics are beginning to reveal there has been an influx in the amount of people that are opting to obtain a tattoo, or that already have a tattoo of some kind. Tattoo machines have made it possible for individuals to obtain tattoos without any qualms, and these machines actually cut down on some of the pain factor as well.
When my older brother got his first tattoo, it was a cross symbol near his left shoulder blade, and my parents nearly blew a gasket. Perhaps it was a generational conflict, but neither my father nor my mother could understand what made their dear son to get a tattoo out of a sudden impulse. My brother, who was then an up-and-rising medical student with a promising future, decided to mark his body physically and his life figuratively with a ‘tramp mark’ (in my mother’s words). Oh, the horror!
Do you really know how good that person who is just about to put a permanent work of art on your skin really is? Most people make the mistake of just using the first person they come to when they want a tattoo, and I appreciate that a lot of tattoos are spur of the moment decisions so you don’t have much time to decide. But if you really want a great tattoo then encourage you to take a step back and think long and hard about the design and the tattoo artist before you do anything.
